Training day

A soldier from the 256th Combat Brigade Team of the Louisiana National Guard provides rear cover during training exercises at Fort Hood, Texas. The exercise was a real-life scenario with soldiers patrolling a mock Iraqi village encountering fake explosions and civilians. The 75th Division supervised the exercise and has provided training for more than 3,000 reservists from the 256th in preparation for deployment to Iraq.

Cavalry sweep

Since I have more then a year and a half under my belt, I will be posting some of my better images from the past before I post any of my recent work. Along with those images will be posts on what I experienced on those assignments.

Ernest Aguilar vacuums carpet on a luggage conveyor belt a week before the grand opening of the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport in Killeen, Texas. Behind him is a mural of the 1st Cavalry Horse Detachment.

My first post.

I am an up-and-coming photojournalist at my second paper, The Beaumont Enterprise in Beaumont, Texas. As I post and gain experience in the journalism field, I hope I can help young photojournalists such as myself make their transitions with as much ease as possible.
